I am a registered Clinical Psychologist (Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) Deakin University) a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS), and fellow of the APS Clinical College (FCCLP).
I graduated in 2009 at Deakin University in Victoria with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Clinically, I was trained in evidenced based practices such as CBT, IPT and mindfulness. My theoretical dissertation focused on studying the personalty profiles, and changes if any, of emergency service personnel (e.g., police officers) over the course of on the job experience. Although I spent several years in Academia studying and project managing applied experiments on workplace culture and the importance of leadership coaching in creating creating healthy workplaces, I spent many years as a Consultant Psychologist writing psychological reports for a variety of purposes (e.g., VISA/Immigration and Court). I also maintained my interest in private practice during this time.
Early on in my clinical experience, I worked across a variety of settings including child, adolescent and adult Community Continuing Care Team (CCT) settings, as well as Crisis Assessment Treatment Teams (CATT). Although these programs have their place, I felt that my role was very limited and the space and capacity to create a deeper and more lasting change was limited. I was/am passionate about helping patients not only develop a deeper understanding of themselves, to create lasting change, but passionate about helping patients reach their full potential and thrive.
This led me to deepen my focus on private practice work and importantly strengthened my devotion to psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Since that time, I has undertaken further training and supervision in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and I now primarily works from this frame, both in a short and long term way.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss further.
